"With the fragrance "Sur tes lèvres. E.Q." I wanted to illustrate the sublime sensation of abandoning one's lips to another. I built a musky floral fragrance around the airy, silky tones of iris with a luminous jasmine. In the background, to reinforce the sensuality of this creation, I worked on a trio of vibrant woody and amber notes."

All my life I’ve searched for the eternal love: the love that would finally calm the amber and iris storm brewing in my heart. Our velvety-soft first kiss and the vibrant aura of cashmeran and jasmine surrounding you has me convinced. My search is finally coming to an end. On your lips, I finally surrender to our radiant union and celebrate the irresistible and musky intertwining of our bodies and souls.

Creation

The Iris concrete and resinoid LMR from Iris pallida (sourced in France) and Iris germanica were used by Dominique Ropion in the composition of Sur tes lèvres E.Q. The two extracts are obtained from dried rhizomes which are then ground to obtain Iris powder. From this powder, two treatments are available to the perfumer to extract the odorant compounds from the rhizomes: The hydrodistillation which will give the concrete of Iris, and the extraction which will allow the Iris Pallida to become resin and to bring notes going of the cocoa until fruity tonalities.

D'ORSAY creates unisex fragrances, echoing the first historic fragrance conceived in 1830 by our creator Alfred d'Orsay for himself and the love of his life Marguerite Blessington.
